About Mettalusso®
🐾 Safety & Use — Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if my pet licks the mousse during or after grooming?
The mousse is formulated for external use only. If your pet licks a small amount during grooming, monitor them for any signs of discomfort. If you notice any unusual reaction, contact your veterinarian promptly. This product is not intended for ingestion.
Does the mousse need to be fully dry before my pet can lick their coat?
We recommend allowing the product to be wiped or rinsed off fully before your pet resumes normal activity. Wipe away any excess with a dry cloth or Mettalusso Cotton Cleansing Wipes and let the coat air dry before your pet self-grooms. This reduces the chance of them ingesting residue.
Which animals is this product designed for?
This mousse is formulated for dogs and cats of all ages, including puppies and kittens. It is not tested or labeled for use on other animal species. If you have a different type of pet, consult your veterinarian before use.
Is this safe for puppies, kittens, and senior pets?
Yes — this formula is described as extremely mild and is designed for use on pets of all ages, including puppies, kittens, and seniors. Always follow the application instructions and avoid contact with eyes.
Can I use this on broken or irritated skin?
No. As stated in the product caution: do not use on broken skin. If your pet has wounds, sores, or active skin irritation, skip the affected area and consult your veterinarian.
When should I contact a veterinarian?
Contact your vet if: your pet shows signs of skin irritation, redness, or persistent scratching after use; your pet ingests a significant amount of product; any condition develops or persists. When in doubt, always err on the side of a vet call.

Thank you Christine for sending these wipes when my house burned down in the Palisades fire. My dogs loved them and it made them have “vanilla ears” when I used them for ear wipes. Also because my 14 year old Labrador pees on his paws, they made his feet smell much better! I also loved your skincare line (for humans) and have been using it everyday. So grateful for your kind gift. Now I’m orderin

It works great for my Dachshund/Papillion that patches of long hairs coming out of everywhere & this brush makes her look and feel nice and soft. I don't see the gloss but I'm guessing they mean the softness.and it does work well. My dog didn't mind it either she loves any attention. Thanks Mettalusso!
