Skincare Is Personal: When an Ingredient Doesn't Agree With Your Skin
Sometimes the best way to understand skincare is to experience it firsthand.
Recently, I tested a facial and neck spray containing botanical ingredients, including witch hazel. Although witch hazel is commonly used in skincare formulations, I discovered that my skin simply doesn't care for it. After application, I experienced an unwanted reaction, reminding me that even well-intentioned skincare ingredients don't work the same way for everyone.
This is an important part of skincare education: knowing your ingredients and paying attention to how your skin responds matters just as much as choosing a product.
It's also why I believe in having options. At Mettalusso, the MAY SPRAY witch hazel free Toner and the MORIIS® Modern Relief Lotion both take a different approach, focusing on soothing, calming and helping reduce the appearance of redness and irritation.
May Spray is a cosmetic product and Modern Relief is also calming at an OTC strength level. Both of these can bring you the soothing results you wish for.
Your skin has its own preferences. Learn them, respect them, and choose your skincare accordingly.
Love your skin. It's the only one you've got.
